What kind of DJ am I?

Old school. I'm not the guy hunched over a laptop building tracks from scratch — there are guys who fill stadiums doing that and they're great at it, but that's not me. I take music that already exists and I make it work together. Live. In the room. With the train wrecks and the smooth moments and everything in between.

I lean seventies and eighties, but I'll mix Tchaikovsky with Lords of Acid. Neneh Cherry with AC/DC. Barbra Streisand into Twisted Sister. If two songs aren't supposed to go together, that's exactly when I'm interested.

The moment I'm chasing? When the floor is full and I drop something into the mix and I watch faces change — "oh my god, I forgot about this song" — and nobody stops dancing. That's the whole job.

And yes — I'm kid-friendly. I can DJ a five-year-old's birthday party. I've got music for every room.

🎧 The Mixes

Wooden Nickels

The Wooden Nickels were the first long-form mixes I ever made — recorded out of a hotel room in Ogallala, Nebraska, right in the middle of my affliction. I'm in recovery now, and I'm not proud of where I was, but I'm not ashamed either. I have to remember where I came from. These mixes are part of that road.

If you know the wooden nickel story, you'll get it. If you don't — just remember, don't take any wooden nickels.

Mostly I hope they put a smile on somebody's face. That's the whole pitch.

⚠ On a couple of these, you don't want the kids in the room.

🎤 Mobile DJing

Weddings · Receptions · Parties

I've got the gear, the catalog, and the one thing you can't fake — I can read a room. Three years spinning as a club DJ, partnered on Rod Stewart's son's birthday party (yes, I met Rod — Salt-N-Pepa and George Hamilton were there too), and I've shared booths with some of the best of them.

These days I'm picky about what I take on. This isn't a hustle — it's something I want to do with you, not for you. Drop me a line and we'll see if it's a fit.

Where the "Sik" comes from

They call me Sik Mix because I take songs that aren't supposed to go together and I make them work. I've been doing this on and off for decades — I even had a piece that aired during the Olympics back in the day.

Want a special gift for somebody? Send me a list of songs, or just tell me what they love, and I'll build something for them. As long or as short as you want. I love doing this as much as anything else I do, and I'm good at it.

📚 Music Library Management

Your Music · Your Server · Anywhere

Got 30 CDs you actually love? 200? A box of MP3s nobody's touched in a decade?

Here's the thing — every streaming service in the world has access to every song. What it doesn't have is your music, the way you want it, the way you organized it, ready to play wherever you are. I can take what you've got, get it onto a server, organize it, and hand you a front-end where you can listen anywhere in the world from your phone, laptop, or anything with a browser.

My own server holds almost 20,000 cuts right now — a little of everything and a lot of some stuff. I didn't know how good it felt to have all my music in one place until I built it for myself.

🎙️ Emcee Services

Mic · Room · Voice

Award ceremonies. Pageants — including Miss Nebraska, a few years back. The KMLE Country stage in Phoenix, introducing acts. Voiceover work. I've done it all and I'm comfortable with all of it.

If it has to do with audio and somebody needs to hold the room — I can help. This isn't a job for me, it's a side gig I love. Which means when I take something on, I bring everything I've got to it.
